As some of you may be aware, the Fort Worth Police were active in River Park very early this morning around 3:45 a.m. You may have seen a helicopter that hovered over the neighborhood doing a spotlight search for a period of about 30 minutes. There were also police on the ground searching door to door, primarily in the southwest corner of the neighborhood. One of the residents was able to speak with a police officer today to learn more details as to why they were in the neighborhood. Apparently, there was a car theft (not in our neighborhood) and the police were involved in a car chase after the suspect. The police lost track of the suspect and later found the stolen vehicle nearby our neighborhood. The suspect had fled the stolen vehicle and was believed to have had a presence in the southwest corner of River Park.
As far as we know, they were unable to locate the suspect and the police vacated the neighborhood around 5 a.m. We have checked the security camera at the front gate and the only activity the camera picked up was the arrival and departure of the police. If we learn any more relevant information, we will certainly let you know.
